To provide a properly filled part, it was considered the maximum number of injection points.
The solution selected (My series and valve gate type) is ideal for those parts with requirement of high structural resistance because it is injecting the expected quantity of material.
The CAE analysis (Fig. 5) and the pressure loss calculation provided:
- The number of drops and the drops location.
- The filling sequence approach.
- The deformation areas and eventual weak points in the structure. It was possible to suggest the proper cooling line on the mould.
- The correct flow diameter and system layout for obtaining a fast colour change.
It was suggested the colour change procedure and approach to reduce the total number of scrap parts.
